Take a Break and Your Work Quality Will Improve

Science tells us that after 90 to 120 minutes of solid working, our mental and creative abilities actually start to diminish. If you continue to push through and work beyond the time that your brain is functioning at its best, you will end up making more mistakes and work slower with poorer quality work.

So take a break…even if it’s just for 5 to 10 minutes.

Breaking the steady work marathons to have a snack is a great way to recharge your mental batteries. Having a bit of brain healthy food can change your focus and attitude while giving you some energy to push through to the next task. Try to snack on some brain healthy foods like fresh blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. These little treats are filled with polyphenols that work to promote brain communication that will overall improve you energy and alertness.

Another way to recharge your batteries is to sit in a quiet space and meditate for a spell. Tapping into the less chaotic area of you head. This will give you a few minutes to rest and rejuvenate. You’d be surprised at the how helpful this can be. Kick off your shoes and fold into a lotus pose, breathe deep and let your mind go.
