Are You a New Grad? Here Are Some Networking Tips For You A lot of people have a love/hate relationship with networking. There’s no denying that it can be an essential element to getting your name out into the business world though. Networking is a way to establish relationships that are more meaningful and beneficial to all parties involved. After you graduate college is a really good time to start establishing some solid connections by networking. Let’s take a look at some tips that will help you to become a more efficient networker: Be Yourself: This is a pretty simple step and one that doesn’t require much. Just be yourself! People don’t care much for those that put on a false front and would much prefer someone that is upfront about who they are. You don’t need a script to act from. You just need to be true to yourself and you’ll have much more success when networking Be Friendly and Approachable: Put on a happy face and open yourself up to those around your. When networking people will look for those who seem to be friendly and approachable. Go ahead and shake hands, smile and be engaging because it will weigh in your favor Quality – Not Quantity: This is one of those times in your life that you don’t have to have the most people in your networking pool for it to count.
